Meet Terry Dolliver

Originally from Texas, Terry Dolliver grew up between Dallas and Fort Worth. After marrying his high school sweetheart, he served 12 years in the US Air Force, where his technology journey began.

Dolliver joined the Liquid Web team in 2016, coming on board through the Cloud Sites acquisition from Rackspace. As a support leader, he finds his role aligned with his passion for service, given Liquid Web’s commitment to assisting clients with their diverse technological needs.

Why did you join Liquid Web?

I joined the Liquid Web team as part of the Cloud Sites acquisition from Rackspace. The business philosophies and objectives aligned so perfectly that it was a seamless transition.

What draws you to the hosting industry as a career?

Web hosting and technology are always on the move. There is always far more to learn than time to learn it. I enjoy helping others with this challenge and removing obstacles to empower our support team to do more.

Is there something specific about Liquid Web you just love?

I love the team, the Helpful Humans, and our clients. The support team comprises individuals from coast to coast in the US, Europe, and Asia. Our focus is creating excellent outcomes for our clients and one another, and that is what I love!

What’s your favorite part about the company culture at Liquid Web?

We are empowered by our senior leadership team. We are encouraged and supported in our quest to make things better for our clients and our internal teams. We all have unique things to contribute, and Liquid Web’s leadership has consistently fostered collaboration from all sides and levels across the business.

In your eyes, what’s the difference between Liquid Web and other employers?

Passion for helping others.

What is the biggest milestone you’ve accomplished?

I married my high school sweetheart, though it took a few years after our graduation to accomplish it. We have been married for over 30 years and have two wonderful children.

Tell us about an amazing customer experience you have had at Liquid Web.

I loved working with a very large online retailer struggling to maintain its extremely unique eCommerce store during events. Their setup and business are such that they have extremely high volume in very short spurts, so this was a challenge that was inspiring to participate in. The collaboration between the client’s team and our support and engineering teams was inspirational and extremely gratifying.

What are you known for at Liquid Web? What do people specifically come to you for?

Our strength at Liquid Web is our passion for helping people solve problems.

What is one thing you wish our customers knew about their hosting?

Let us know your plans and events in advance so we can be sure you are set up for success.

Work aside, what are some of your hobbies?

I love spending casual time with my family and, as time allows, gaming. My interest in gaming started in 1977 when the Atari 2600 was released: Asteroids, Space Invaders, and finally, Pac-Man Fever.

What is your favorite TV show?

I am a big fan of documentaries, but I don’t have a favorite.

What is your favorite app?

‘Sane Later’ and ‘Nomo Max’ – Both are tools to combat spammers and keep distractions from stealing my focus.

If you could have dinner with one famous person [dead or alive] who would it be?

Keanu Reeves. From all I have read and seen via clips, he is a humble, down-to-earth person who enjoys helping others.

We hope you enjoyed our series, and stay tuned for the next Helpful Human profile.
