How to create a DayZ server: requirements
- Intel Core i5-4430 or equivalent
- At least 4 GB RAM
- At least 20 GB disk space (The game will fit in around 10GB of free space but with mods and addons you will quickly exceed that.
- SSD for storage is highly recommended
- Dual/quad core CPU
- At least 8 GB RAM
- At least 20+ GB disk SSD (RAID-protected SSD is standard on Liquid Web’s cloud VPS)
For Windows, you’ll need at minimum:
- 2 CPU Cores
- 6 GB of memory
- 32 GB of hard disk space
- Licensing, at about $33/month
- 2 CPU Cores
- 4 GB of memory
- 25 GB of hard disk space
How to create a private DayZ server on Linux
- Add a local user for your server: sudo adduser dayzserver
- Switch to the newly added user: su – dayzserver
- Download linuxgsm.sh
- curl -Lo linuxgsm.sh https://linuxgsm.sh && chmod +x linuxgsm.sh && bash linuxgsm.sh dayzserver
- Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions: ./dayzserver install
