VPS reseller hosting is a service where you purchase a virtual private servers from a hosting provider resell the environments to individual clients. While the hosting provider handles the infrastructure, resellers can customize plans, brand the services, handle billing, and provide support. VPS reseller hosting is a revenue-generating opportunity for individuals or businesses without the hassle of managing their own server infrastructure.

No, this is not a VPS server in the traditional sense. You are in a single tenant environment where virtual servers can be deployed with instant provisioning. Unlike other server types, the VPS reseller server can be used to create isolated VPS instances. In essence, you are creating multiple, custom virtual VPS environments within a larger VPS.

At Liquid Web, we call our VPS reseller servers private parents. This is because you have sole control over the parent server and its resources. When you create client environments, those are child instances belonging to your private parent server. You won’t be charged by the instance — only for the parent VPS reseller server itself.

The private VPS parent server itself will always be a managed product as it relies on our provisioning systems to work. However, the VPS servers you create on a private VPS parent server will be set to the management level you choose upon creation.

No! There is no additional cost to create additional VPS instances on your private VPS parent server. You can create as many VPS instances as you’d like with no additional charges. Your only limitation is the amount of available resources on the private parent.

The only potential costs related to VPS creation on a private VPS parent server will be for software and OS licensing fees (if any). These would only be applicable on server images that include additional proprietary software.

Windows instances do require an additional licensing fee added to each individual instance. This fee is currently based on the CPU core count of the parent server. The fee will only be in effect as long as the Windows instances is active. MSSQL licensing will also be charged individually to the instance.

Yes, for managed instances there is an additional fee and a few resource minimums. For example, with cPanel/managed templates there is a minimum of 880 MB of RAM. With Windows managed/unmanaged instances the minimum RAM is 1,750 MB, and for Linux the minimum RAM is 512 MB. Windows also requires 2 VCPUs, which will reflect upon the number of CPUs seen by the instance but have no direct relationship to the actual physical cores.

Yes, there are disk space minimum requirements that will be determined by the size of the template you are seeking to deploy.
