How to Setup Email on Postbox

  • These instructions are intended specifically for setting up POP3/IMAP email on Postbox.
  • I’ll be working with Postbox version 3.0.11.
  • If these instructions don’t quite work for you, check-out our tutorial on setting up other email clients.

Step 1: Enter Basic Account Information

Your Name should be your name as you want it to appear in emails that you send.

Email Address should simply be your email address.

Password should simply be the password for your email account.

Click Manual Setup…

Step 2a: Configure IMAP

First we’ll setup the Incoming Server information. If you’ve configured your email in cPanel then you can either select POP3 or IMAP for the connection Type . In this case, we’ve selected IMAP and Port is set to 143 .

User Name should be your username, generally with the domain included. For example, test-user@thebestfakedomainnameintheworld.com instead of just test-user .

The Server Name should be set to the correct hostname. Generally speaking, this will be mail.yourdomain.com or similar.

Next we’ll setup the Outgoing Server information. The Server Name should be set to the correct hostname. Generally speaking, this will be mail.yourdomain.com or similar. Also, be sure that Port is set to 25 .

Then click Finish

Step 2b: Configure POP3

Next, we’ll set up the Outgoing Server information. The Server Name should be set to the correct hostname. Generally speaking, this will be mail.yourdomain.com or similar. Also, be sure that Port is set to 25.

Then click Finish

Step 9: Setup Complete

That’s it, Postbox should now be set up to receive email!
