PayPal Settings

LearnDash comes with built-in PayPal support, allowing you to accept payments without needing extra plugins or add-ons. Once configured, you can start selling courses using PayPal quickly and securely.

Requirements

  • A free PayPal account (must be verified).
  • LearnDash currently supports PayPal Standard payments only.

Configuring PayPal in LearnDash

  1. From your WordPress dashboard, go to LearnDash LMS > Settings > Payments.
  2. Locate the PayPal section and click Manage.
  3. Configure the following fields:
  • Active Toggle: Turn this on to enable PayPal.
  • Test Mode: Enable the PayPal sandbox for testing transactions.
  • PayPal Email: Enter the email address associated with your PayPal account.
  • Country Code: Enter your two-letter country code (e.g., US for United States, CA for Canada, AU for Australia). A full list of supported codes is available in LearnDash documentation.
  • Return URL: The page users are redirected to after a successful payment (e.g., your confirmation page).
  • Cancel URL: The page users are redirected to if they cancel a payment or if the payment fails. This can be a custom support page, contact page, or your main site.
  • Webhook URL: Enter the webhook provided by LearnDash for PayPal integration.
  1. After entering all required information, click Save to apply your settings.

By setting up PayPal inside LearnDash, you can start selling courses immediately without complicated integrations. PayPal’s global reach and simplicity make it an ideal choice for course creators just getting started.

Tip: Use a dedicated confirmation page as your Return URL to reinforce branding and guide learners to their first lesson right after purchase.
