Preparing Your Clients for Gutenberg

Note: This is a paid webinar you receive at no cost as part of your iThemes Toolkit membership.
This section will cover changed to Gutenberg since the last webinar (UI, functionality, roadmap, etc.) as well as any news on how testing is going, if we have a release date, and more.

You have lots of clients who are currently happy with their site, and WordPress 5.0 is coming. In this section, we’ll talk about how to broach the topic of 5.0 with your clients, how you want to frame the conversation, what you (and they) can do to prepare for 5.0, and ways to ease the transition. We’ll also talk about different client statuses: No active projects, projects in process, and projects still in the proposal/discovery phase

There are a lot of moving parts to Gutenberg, but it doesn’t mean you’ll need to change your client’s entire site to make it work. In this section, we’ll identify potential problem areas and how to fix them. It will include changes that can be made through the admin, through theme code, and through plugin code.

The last free webinar (Testing Your Site for Gutenberg), deals with test plans. In this section we’re going to tweak and apply it to a a demo site that we’ll upgrade in the next section.

It’s time to put everything we talked about to work. In this section, we’ll take a site and convert it to Gutenberg, and make it as ready as we can in the alloted time. We’ll copy it to a staging server, enable the plugin, apply our test plan, and add code snippets as needed to get our demo site in tip-top shape.
