How to install ImunifyAV
ImunifyAV is a free malware scanner plugin created by Cloudlinux. It simply helps to identify potential malware, but it does not remediate malware.
cPanel installation
On the server where you want to install ImunifyAV, perform the following steps:
- Log in to WHM as the
rootuser or as a reseller account withroot-level privileges. - Navigate to WHM’s Security Advisor interface (WHM » Home » Security Center » Security Advisor).
- In the Install ImunifyAV to scan your websites for malware alert, click Install ImunifyAV.
Important: If the ImunifyAV alert does not appear in the list of security alerts, one of the following conditions exists on your server:- Your server does not support ImunifyAV.
- You are using a trial account.
- You are not a
rootuser or a reseller account withroot-level privileges.
- A new tab will open to show you the installation status. This installation may take a few minutes.
- After the installation is complete, you will see a success message. You can either click Go back or close the tab.
You can access ImunifyAV from the Plugins interface (WHM » Home » Plugins).
InterWorx installation
To install ImunifyAV on InterWorx servers, we recommend you following the documentation within the InterWorx Appendix.
Plesk installation
To install ImunifyAV antivirus for Plesk:
- Go to Plesk extension page
- Download the extension ImunifyAV or open Plesk panel admin page and install the extension right from your web hosting panel → Security → ImunifyAV
How to update ImunifyAV
Servers with automatic updates enabled will update ImunifyAV automatically. However, you can always manually check if an update is available, or perform the update yourself if automatic updates have been disabled in favor of manual updates.
To upgrade ImunifyAV on CentOS, run the command:
yum update imunify-antivirusTo update ImunifyAV on Ubuntu/Debian, run the commands:
apt-get update
apt-get install --only-upgrade imunify-antivirus
