Plesk Control Panel Editions
The Plesk Control Panel is a powerful server control panel with tons of personalization options. But, as your needs change, your Plesk Control Panel can change, too.
Plesk Editions
Plesk has two different versions to meet specific needs:
- Plesk Web Pro Edition for agencies (This is the default for Plesk servers at Liquid Web)
- Plesk Web Host Edition for web resellers
If you have a traditional dedicated server, you choose between these two editions when you create a server. If you decide you need different features, you can change your Plesk edition by contacting our Support team.
Plesk Web Pro Edition
Plesk Web Pro Edition is designed for agencies that manage multiple websites for clients. The agency can access all the customer websites in one place while still keeping each customer separate. This version supports up to 30 domains.
Web Pro Edition supports:
- Tomcat
- PostgreSQL
- MSSQL
This edition of Plesk also includes WordPress Toolkit. WordPress Toolkit lets Plesk users install, configure, and manage WordPress on your sites. Instead of managing each WordPress site individually, you can manage plugins, security, and updates for every site right in Plesk.
Web Pro Edition includes basic server security with Security Core and uses basic Atomicorp ModSecurity rules. There are two tools you can add to increase security:
Plesk Web Host Edition
Plesk Web Host Edition is designed for resellers who provide web accounts directly to their customers. It has all the features of Web Pro Edition but adds extra reseller management options. This version supports unlimited domains.
Web Host Edition supports:
- Tomcat
- PostgreSQL
- MSSQL
This edition of Plesk also includes WordPress Toolkit. WordPress Toolkit lets Plesk users install, configure, and manage WordPress on your sites. Instead of managing each WordPress site individually, you can manage plugins, security, and updates for every site right in Plesk.

No matter what Plesk edition you use, there are tools available to customize your server even more.
Security Core Complete with Server Shield Plus
If you’re concerned about server security, Plesk offers an upgrade to use all the ModSecurity rules and enables daily updates.
If you upgrade your security tools, you’ll can also use ServerShield Plus from Cloudflare. ServerShield helps protect your server from DDoS attacks, hackers, spammers, and botnets. It also includes Cloudflare’s firewall and content delivery network (CDN). Using a CDN helps your site load faster.
Parallels Premium Antivirus
Parallels Premium Antivirus protects your mailboxes by scanning and filtering email, looking for infected files. If you’re using your server to handle your email, antivirus software can prevent a lot of problems. You can visit the Parallels Premium Antivirus website to learn more about the specifications.
Web Presence Builder
Creating a website from scratch can be intimidating. Plesk uses Web Presence Builder to provide templates and an editor. You can create professional-looking websites with no formal web development skills. This addon is especially useful for resellers who have many customers without web development experience. Web Presence Builder can be added to any edition of Plesk.
Language Packs
Language packs translate Plesk into any language you’d like. If you have clients or customers in different parts of the world, it’s a good idea to localize Plesk with a Language Pack.
