What is nextmp.net?

When migrating your website or starting up a new one, the nextmp.net domain allows Nexcess clients to view and test their website prior to going live with their official domain name.

At Nexcess, we use nextmp.net as a temporary domain name so you can view and test your website before repointing your DNS records to the your server. The temporary domain resolves almost immediately, circumventing the wait associated with repointing DNS records.

Whether you are migrating your existing website or starting up an entirely new one, nextmp.net functions as an easy, quick way to test your site before going live.

Your temporary domain name will only use the first eight letters of your actual domain name. For example, nexcessdomain.com would become nexcessd.nextmp.net. If the resulting domain is unavailable, we will append a number to create a unique domain name. For example, if nexcessd.nextmp.net is already in use, your temporary domain would become nexcess1.nextmp.net
