Nexcess Managed WordPress File Management
Manage your WordPress site's files. Use SFTP for direct access to themes and plugins, and the Media Library for your site's content.
Managing the files of your Nexcess Managed WordPress site involves accessing, uploading, and modifying the core components of your installation, such as themes, plugins, and media uploads. On our Managed WordPress platform, there are two primary methods for file management, each designed for different purposes.
- SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol): For direct access to the file system, SFTP is the primary method. It is used for developer-oriented tasks like manually uploading themes or plugins, editing configuration files, and troubleshooting. Our platform does not include a web-based file manager like cPanel; all direct file transfers are handled via SFTP.
- WordPress Media Library: For content management, the WordPress dashboard is the standard interface. The Media Library is used to upload and manage images, videos, and other files that are embedded in your posts and pages.
