Responsive, helpful, and dedicated in ways automation simply can’t be. We’re your team.

Each month, we recognize one of our Most Helpful Humans in Hosting®.

Cristina Green - Helpful Human
“We welcome and embrace diversity. I get to interact every day with people from all over the world.”

Meet Cristina Green

Cristina Green grew up in Lansing, where she attended Lansing Community College and received an associate degree in Humanities before transferring to Michigan State University. There, she got a BA in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology, India, and religious studies.

While in college, she worked for Elderly Instruments, a musical instrument store selling vintage and antique instruments, working in their customer service department and assisting global customers. She coordinated with the IT department to create efficiencies in their processes, train team members, and document SOPs in a digital format.

Her experience there led to her working in more technical support centers. Currently, Green is the Senior Manager of Customer Onboarding at Liquid Web, where she manages the Implementations and Migrations Teams.

In December 2021, she moved to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, where she lives 100% off-grid in a cabin on 40 acres.

Why did you join Liquid Web?

Over the years, growing up in Lansing, I have had many friends and acquaintances who worked for LiquidWeb. They all described it as a great place to work.

What draws you to the hosting industry as a career?

I get to be part of something global.

Is there something specific about Liquid Web you just love?

My mentors and leaders encourage work/life balance. I have experienced burnout in previous positions by working around the clock. We can have balance and still get the job done by being efficient and improving our processes.

What’s your favorite part about the company culture at Liquid Web?

We welcome and embrace diversity. I get to interact every day with people from all over the world.

What is the biggest milestone you’ve accomplished?

For me, it is rising above my socioeconomic status. I grew up without a lot and had a rough childhood. Despite getting excellent grades, I barely graduated high school because I was working four jobs to support myself after moving out of my family home at 16. It took me several years to pay my way through college by working multiple part-time jobs and side hustles. Now, I am grateful to own my property and have a successful career.

Tell us about an amazing customer experience you have had at Liquid Web.

My favorite customer experience is being able to turn situations around. I love being able to help customers resolve their hurdles and take advantage of our fantastic products and services.

What are you known for at Liquid Web? What do people specifically come to you for?

I’m a fixer. If a process is broken or doesn’t make sense, people bring it to me, and I can improve it. I take ownership of any piece of Liquid Web’s process and look to improve it for the customer, our teams, and the business.

What is one thing you wish our customers knew about their hosting?

We have teams of exceptional people standing by to assist them with any hurdles they experience.

What is your nickname at Liquid Web, and why?

Some people call me “bestie” because they bring a lot of problems to me. I either fix them or find the person who can.

Work aside, what are some of your hobbies?

I love hiking, making art (I primarily create journals and do crochet), growing and preserving food, foraging, sustainable living, self-reliance, identifying trees and plants, and chopping firewood.

What is your favorite TV show?

Community. My second favorite is Parks and Recreation. Both of them have great character development.

What is your favorite app?

Whisk! Do you know how recipes online make you scroll through a 19-page story about how this was their grandma’s famous cookies that she made for them growing up in Norway or whatnot? This app bypasses all of that. And you can search by ingredients if you want to use something up. Living in the middle of nowhere, you have to cook at home, and this app helps me be more creative.

If you could have dinner with one famous person [dead or alive], who would it be?

Dead: Frida Kahlo
Alive: Lizzo
