The global Currency settings allow you to configure which currency all your donations will be received and reported in; as well as the formatting of the currency values.

You can find your global GiveWP currency settings by navigating to GiveWP > Settings > General (tab) > Currency (sub-menu).

Give Settings -- General Tab Currency Section

Currency: Select your currency from the dropdown. Note that some payment gateways have currency restrictions, and changing the currency here can result in failed transactions.

Settings for Option-Based Forms

These settings are visible when you have the Option-Based Form Editor setting enabled in the Advanced settings.

Auto-format server currency amounts: When enabled, amounts are automatically formatted based on the selected currency. This option requires an extension in your site’s PHP installation. You can read more details about that here.

Currency Position: Depending on your currency and culture, there are different conventions for where the currency symbol goes. Use this dropdown to set your preference throughout the plugin.

Thousands Separator: For some currencies, it is conventional to use a different separator for thousands.

Decimal Separator: For some currencies, it is conventional to use a different separator for decimals. Use this field to specify the decimal separator for your currency.

Number of Decimals: This controls how many decimal places occur after your main currency amount. For example, the U.S. dollar supports 2 decimals in order to count cents.  Note that the Fee Recovery Add-on forces 2 decimal places to be added because of how percentage-based fees add decimals to amounts.
