Lesson 3: Quiz Access Settings
Beyond adding questions, LearnDash quizzes include settings that give you more control over how and when learners can access them.
Quiz Release Schedule
- By default, quizzes are available immediately.
- You can choose to “drip” quizzes so they become available either:
- After a set number of days from enrollment, or
- On a specific calendar date.
- This works just like lesson or topic drip scheduling.
Quiz Prerequisite
- Require learners to complete (and pass) another quiz before accessing the current one.
- This helps create structured learning paths where progress is tied to demonstrated knowledge.
Allowed Users
- Restrict access to quizzes to registered users only by enabling the checkbox.
- This is especially useful when:
- Embedding a quiz via shortcode on a standalone page.
- Running open courses but still wanting to limit quiz participation to registered learners.
Why This Matters
These quiz settings allow you to control access, enforce prerequisites, and create structured pathways that align with your course design strategy.
Tip: Use prerequisites to build progressive assessments—ensuring learners master foundational content before moving on.
