Help Docs Software LearnDash Add Content to Your Lessons & Topics

Add Content to Your Lessons & Topics

Now that your course settings are configured, it’s time to add actual content to your lessons, topics, and quizzes using the LearnDash Course Builder.

Editing Lesson Content

To begin, return to the Builder tab and hover over any lesson, topic, or quiz. You’ll see options to Edit or Remove each item. Click Edit on your first lesson to start adding content.

On the lesson editing page:

  • The lesson title is already populated from what you entered in the course builder.
  • To add content, click the “+” icon to access WordPress content blocks.

From here, you can:

  • Add paragraph text by typing or pasting your content.
  • Add videos by selecting a block like “YouTube” and pasting in your video link.
  • Add audio, images, headings, or any other supported block element.

You can also use the search bar to find specific blocks (e.g., “video,” “audio,” “image,” “paragraph”) for faster access.

Example: Adding Text and Video

  • Paste or type your lesson text into a paragraph block.
  • Click the “+” icon, search for YouTube, and paste in your video link.
  • Click Embed to insert the video directly into the lesson page.

You can add multiple content blocks—including multiple videos or audio files—depending on your lesson design and learning goals.

Saving Your Content

Once you’ve added everything you need:

  • Click Update to save your lesson.
  • Click View Lesson to preview what your learners will see.

Why This Matters

Your lesson pages are where learning happens—adding rich content like videos, text, and audio helps keep learners engaged and reinforces understanding. The flexibility of the block editor gives you full creative control over how each lesson is presented.

Tip: Keep lessons focused and scannable—use clear headings, short paragraphs, and engaging media to improve learner retention.
