Switching Two-Factor Authentication to a New Device
Using two-factor authentication (2FA) gives your Liquid Web account an extra layer of security. But, 2FA is device-specific. If you get a new phone (or other mobile device), you'll have to remove your old phone by disabling 2FA and then add your new phone.

I Still Have My Old Phone
If you still have your old phone, it’s quick and easy to switch 2FA to your new phone.
- Log into your Liquid Web account.
- Click the Account button in the top right corner, then click on Manage Users.

- You’ll see a list of all the users with access to your account.
- Find the user who has a new phone, and then click the three dot menu to the right of their account details and click Disable 2FA.

- Using the authentication app on your old phone, enter the unique passcode (exactly how you normally use 2FA to log in) and then click Disable Two-Factor Authentication. You will also receive a confirmation email.
- Now, you can set up 2FA on your new phone. Simply follow the instructions in Enabling Two-Factor Authentication for Users.
I No Longer Have My Old Phone
If you no longer have your old phone, you won’t be able to use it to disable two-factor authentication yourself. Instead, contact our Support team to have 2FA removed from your user account. Then, follow the directions in Enabling Two-Factor Authentication for Users to set up 2FA using your new phone.
