The company appoints new head of global sales in San Antonio office after recent Cloud Sites acquisition

LANSING, Mich.- October 19, 2016 – Liquid Web, a $100 million web-hosting and managed cloud-services provider, announced today the hiring of key leader Amar Patel as Head of Global Sales & Solutions. Patel will play an integral role in the company’s San Antonio office growth, as Liquid Web also recently announced new office expansion plans in the city’s downtown tech corridor.

Patel will lead Liquid Web’s sales teams and sales operations and will be responsible for the coordination and execution of overall sales strategy. Leveraging the company’s acquisition of the Cloud Sites business unit from Rackspace in August, Patel will also assist in developing innovative solutions on this platform to better serve Liquid Web’s customer base of designers, developers and digital agencies.

Patel brings more than 13 years of technology experience to Liquid Web. Previously, he worked as vice president of global sales at Rackspace, where he successfully built the company’s sales model, strategy and execution of Amazon Web Services (AWS). Additionally, Patel has successfully led sales teams focused on AWS Managed Services for North America and also Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Prior to Liquid Web, he served as the chief revenue officer for TenFold, where he was responsible for building the company’s entire sales, channel and service delivery organization.

“Amar Patel is a successful sales leader with a proven track record of driving global expansion and extensive, direct experience with our core audience of web-dependent professionals,” said Liquid Web CEO Jim Geiger. “His appointment, coupled with our recent acquisition of Cloud Sites, is a testament to Liquid Web’s continued dedication to serving businesses that rely on the web and cloud, as well as the company’s vision to continue innovating products and delivering the best experience in hosting.”

“I’m excited about the opportunity to join Liquid Web and continue driving growth and traction amongst companies that need help running and maintaining their mission-critical web applications,” Patel said. “The company has a sound strategy backed by an incredibly experienced executive team and a world-class investment partner in Madison Dearborn Partners.
