Customer Support Technician

Liquid Web Inc is a rapidly expanding web hosting company which currently operates two Data Centers in the Lansing area.  We have continued to make major expansions into the managed dedicated and virtual private server markets.  While the majority of our operations are Linux based we are continuing to expand in the Windows managed hosting market. We are accepting applications for Customer Support Technicians to work directly at our Lansing, MI Data Centers.          

Job Duties:

• Provide professional and friendly support consistently via telephone and electronic help desk
• Troubleshoot and solve a wide range of customer support issues from basic to complex
• System monitoring and response
• Operating system and application installation/configuration
• Performing scheduled maintenance tasks

Skill Requirements:

• Solid working knowledge of RPM based Linux Distributions
• Solid working knowledge of Windows Server 2000/2003
• Experience with Apache, BIND, and IIS preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a team based environment

Senior Software Developer

Liquid Web Inc. is looking for an experienced Perl developer with system level development experience or strong system administration knowledge to help develop new hosting products. Job duties will include working with System Engineers to develop new software, and integrating these products into existing systems, such as Billing, Helpdesk, and Monitoring. The successful candidate will be able to write clean and modular code, communicate effectively with team members as project requirements evolve, and produce software that delivers end results.

• Assist in the planning, development, testing, debugging, documenting and deploying of our internal software.
• Gather requirements and plan for future software development.
• Develop structured code that is easy to use, reliable, and maintainable.
• Develop testing procedures, and use those procedures for verifying software development.
• Help with the software debugging process. (Verifying, recording, patching, communicating).
• Provide adequate documentation for other developers and users.
• Deploy software in a 24/7 environment with minimal impact.
  
• Work primarily on development but also perform DBA tasks and systems administration duties as needed.
• Provide support for internal operations.
• Help develop tools needed to integrate new products into our systems.

Requirements:

• Proficient in Perl, and OO Perl Techniques.
• Experience developing relational databases.
• System administration or Systems development with strong Linux/Unix familiarity.
• Shell Scripting
• Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
• Self motivated, goal oriented.
• Strong communication skills.

Pluses:

• Familiar with HTML::Mason, Database ORM's such as DBIx::Class, Class::DBI
• Familiar with AJAX, C, and Perl XS

• Participate in the full development life cycle of gathering requirements, development, testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment.

• Lead development of small projects.

Requirements:

Liquid Web Inc is a rapidly expanding web hosting company which currently operates three Data Centers in the Lansing area.  We are excited to be accepting applications for a Human Resources Secretary & Administrative Assistant  to work directly at our Lansing, MI Data Centers.   The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-starting, have a passion for the Internet and posses previous Human Resources and Business Administration experience.         

Job Duties:

• Provide professional and friendly interaction with customers & vendors
• Maintain company filing system
• Schedule interviews & internal employee reviews
• Copy, fax, package and/or ship materials upon request
• Place catering orders for meetings & luncheons as needed
• Distribute paycheck stubs to employees
• Perform receptionist duties as needed including
  • Answering phones, screening calls and routing calls
• Answering the door to greet occasional visitors and sign in guests

Skill Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years business experience
• Must have computer experience including MS Word, MS Excel, Internet Browser & other related applications
• Reliable transportation to/from work & between Data Centers
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality
• Be able to prioritize work load effectively & efficiently
