Customer Support Technician

Liquid Web Inc is a rapidly expanding web hosting company which currently operates two Data Centers in the Lansing area. We have continued to make major expansions into the managed dedicated and virtual private server markets. While the majority of our operations are Linux based we are continuing to expand in the Windows managed hosting market. We are accepting applications for Customer Support Technicians to work directly at our Lansing, MI Data Centers.

Job Duties:

Provide professional and friendly support consistently via telephone and electronic help desk
Troubleshoot and solve a wide range of customer support issues from basic to complex
System monitoring and response
Operating system and application installation/configuration
Performing scheduled maintenance tasks

Skill Requirements:

Solid working knowledge of RPM based Linux Distributions
Solid working knowledge of Windows Server 2000/2003
Experience with Apache, BIND, and IIS preferred
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Ability to work in a team based environment
Ability to work flexible hours
One year previous experience preferred
Ability to work at our Lansing, MI Data Center required

Senior Software Developer

Liquid Web Inc. is looking for an experienced Perl developer with system level development experience or strong system administration knowledge to help develop new hosting products. Job duties will include working with System Engineers to develop new software, and integrating these products into existing systems, such as Billing, Helpdesk, and Monitoring. The successful candidate will be able to write clean and modular code, communicate effectively with team members as project requirements evolve, and produce software that delivers end results.

Assist in the planning, development, testing, debugging, documenting and deploying of our internal software.

Gather requirements and plan for future software development.
Develop structured code that is easy to use, reliable, and maintainable.
Develop testing procedures, and use those procedures for verifying software development.
Help with the software debugging process. (Verifying, recording, patching, communicating).
Provide adequate documentation for other developers and users.
Deploy software in a 24/7 environment with minimal impact.

Work primarily on development but also perform DBA tasks and systems administration duties as needed.
Provide support for internal operations.
Help develop tools needed to integrate new products into our systems.

Requirements:

Proficient in Perl, and OO Perl Techniques.
Experience developing relational databases.
System administration or Systems development with strong Linux/Unix familiarity.
Shell Scripting
Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
Self motivated, goal oriented.
Strong communication skills.

Pluses:

Familiar with HTML::Mason, Database ORM's such as DBIx::Class, Class::DBI

Software Developer

Liquid Web Inc. is looking for an entry-to-intermediate level Perl developer with a passion for programming and a commitment to developing good code. The programmer will assist in the development of our internal applications, including Billing, Helpdesk, Workflow Management, Monitoring and more.

Participate in the full development life cycle of gathering requirements, development, testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment.
Assist other developers with projects
Lead development of small projects.

Web Design HTML & CSS Expert

Liquid Web is seeking an individual with strong HTML and CSS skills, coupled with a firm grasp of Adobe Photoshop to join the Marketing Team. This individual will be responsible for taking approved Photoshop design mock-ups and converting them into functional web pages (cross-browser compatible) using established CSS classes or creating new CSS classes as needed. Knowledge of emerging technologies, such as HTML5, are a plus.

The correct candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to write copy for the Liquid Web online properties as requested.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, making approved updates to current pages throughout Liquid Web's online properties, and working closely with the Development Team to ensure front-end compatibility with back-end systems.

Marketing and Public Relations Expert

Liquid Web is seeking a Marketing and Public Relations Expert with strong written and verbal communication skills to add to the Liquid Web Marketing Team. This individual will be responsible for creating press releases, writing web site copy, writing customer emails, writing company newsletters and creating content for social media sites like Facebook and Twitter. The correct candidate will have at least 2 years experience writing and distributing press releases nationally. The ideal candidate will possess a bachelors degree in business, public relations, communications or advertising. This individual will work out of Liquid Web's Lansing office. This is a full time permanent position. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, translating technical information into persuasive copy, a strong passion for work, deep understanding of the internet and social media, and experience with advertising buying.

Requirements:
